BakkesMod is an external injector for Rocket League that does not modify core game files. This makes removal straightforward, but because it runs independently of the game, a full uninstallation requires deleting the main application folder and cleaning up residual files and settings.
Step 1 Terminate the BakkesMod Process
Before deleting files, make sure BakkesMod is completely closed and not running in the background.
- Close Rocket League if it is running.
- Check the system tray for the BakkesMod icon. Right-click the icon and select Exit or Quit.
- Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl, Shift, and Esc.
- Navigate to the Processes tab and locate the process named BakkesMod.exe.
- Right-click the process and select End Task.
This ensures no files are locked when you attempt to delete them.
Step 2 Delete the Main BakkesMod Application Folder
BakkesMod typically does not appear in Windows Add or Remove Programs, so you must remove it manually.
- Open File Explorer.
- Navigate to the default installation path, usually:
C:\Program Files\BakkesMod\ - Alternatively, if BakkesMod is running, you can open the folder via the GUI by selecting File and then Open BakkesMod Folder.
- Delete the entire BakkesMod folder. This removes the injector executable, core files, and all installed plugins located in the plugins subfolder.
Step 3 Remove Residual User Data
BakkesMod stores configuration settings, logs, and cache in the Windows AppData folder. Removing these ensures a clean uninstall.
- Press the Windows Key and R to open the Run dialog.
- Type %appdata% and press Enter to open the Roaming folder.
- Locate the folder named bakkesmod.
- Delete the entire folder. This removes all saved settings, custom keybinds, and logs.
Step 4 Clean Up Registry Entry
Sometimes BakkesMod leaves a registry entry that attempts to start the program at boot. Removing this prevents error messages after uninstallation.
- Press Windows Key and R, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor. Confirm the UAC prompt.
- Navigate to the path:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run - In the right pane, locate any entry named BakkesMod or similar.
- Right-click the entry and select Delete.
- Close the Registry Editor.
Step 5 Restart Your Computer
After completing the above steps, restart your PC. All BakkesMod files and settings will be removed, and Rocket League will run in its default, unmodded state.
Note: If you encounter a permission denied error when deleting files, ensure that Step 1 was completed successfully, or try deleting the files immediately after rebooting.
